Why a Former Hospital Oncology Pharmacist Started a Wellness Brand

My name is Bohee Lee, a former oncology pharmacist at a university hospital and now founder of Whole Blending, a plant-based wellness brand.

Whole Blending stands for “Whole Foods Blending” – the idea of taking real, minimally processed ingredients and blending them into convenient, everyday formats. From the beginning, I wanted our products to stay as close to nature as possible while still fitting into a modern, busy life.

I’ve always been the type of person who reads every ingredient label. That habit started in pharmacy school, when I became deeply interested in toxicology. Later, working in a hospital oncology pharmacy, I saw firsthand how much our daily choices – especially what we eat – can influence our long-term health. It made me rethink my own diet from the ground up.

Ideally, we would eat whole foods cooked simply: steamed, roasted, lightly seasoned. But real life is busy. Most of us rely on processed foods at some point during the day, which means those foods need to be as clean and trustworthy as possible. I personally struggled to find products I could eat “without reading the label first” in Korea, while I saw more options overseas that used short ingredient lists and a more natural approach.

Whole Blending was born out of that gap. I wanted a brand I could trust for myself and my family:
– products you naturally reach for every day because they taste good and feel good,
– products you’d feel proud to give to someone you love,
– products where the health story is real, not just advertising copy.

My goal is simple: to make sustainable, everyday health easier. What we eat builds our energy, our mood, and our future. Whole Blending exists to support that, one clean, plant-based product at a time. In the next parts of this magazine, I’ll share the principles and science behind how we formulate.
